Together with Evita Arce, Vlad participated in the First International Argentine Tango Competition and Showcase hosted by the World Council for Argentine Tango Events in San Diego, California in January of 2004. He returned to participate in the competition in February of 2005 with partner Irene Tumanyan. Together they ranked Gold in Tango, Vals and Milonga. That same night Vladimir was also presented with the "Carlos Gardel Award" for the contribution to the world of Argentine Tango. In January of 2005, Vlad and Irene took the 1st Place in the Argentine Tango Division of the Annual Caltech Dance Sport Competition.

In May of 2005, Vladimir served as the Ambassador of The IV Carlos Gardel Tango Festival in Los Angeles, California. He returned again to the Festival in 2006 as an ambassador and performer.
